Worker Accepts $1.25 Million Dollars
A Buffalo
UPS worker, whose foot was pinned underneath a forklift wheel and
suffered no broken bones, accepted a $1.25 million dollar settlement
after four days of trial.
Bed
Maker Pays Hospital Orderly $725,000
A manufacturer
of an obesity bed paid a hospital orderly $725,000 for foot injuries
he suffered when the footplate on the bed broke and an obese patient
fell on the orderly. There were no broken bones but the orderly
suffered nerve damage as a result of the accident.
Optometrist
Settles for $400,000 Before Verdict
After
several days of trial, an optometrist agreed to accept $400,000
for neck and shoulder injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident
in Niagara County.
Government
Worker Awarded $300,000 in Intersection Accident
A State
Supreme Court jury awarded a Private Industry Council administrator
$300,000 for neck injuries in an accident at Clinton and Elm Streets.
The administrator had retrograde amnesia after the accident and
did not remember how the accident happened.
Nurse
Run Off Road Accepts $110,000
After
several days of trial in State Supreme Court, a nurse whose vehicle
was cut off and run off the road into a ditch agreed to accept $110,000
for neck injuries sustained in the accident.
Hairdresser
to Get $110,000 for Crash
A Buffalo
hairdresser whose vehicle was rear-ended by a bus agreed to accept
$110,000 for whiplash injuries arising from the collision.
